A pet is a living being. It has needs, it feels and suffers from mistreatment. A pet is part of the family. The family must evaluate if they can care for it responsibly and what is the ideal pet for them. Consideration should be given to whether they have the appropriate space, time and financial resources to meet their needs.

Basic Pet Care

  • Give them affection and respect their resting hours.
  • Provide adequate food, according to their age.
  • Consult a veterinarian at least twice a year.
  • Vaccinate them every year against rabies, parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, influenza or other diseases characteristic of their species.
  • Periodic dental cleaning.
  • Deworming.
  • Spay or neuter pets at an early age, so they will live quiet lives, develop loving temperaments and be less likely to get sick.e.
  • Take him for a walk, every day, with collar, leash and, if necessary, a muzzle.
  • Bath every two weeks.
  • Collect excreta and dispose of them properly. Consider your neighbors.
  • Avoid dominance problems between pets and do not allow pets to fight.

If you are unable to give your pets the time they need, or they have temperament problems or chronic illnesses, the owner should

  • Make an attempt to socialize or change the pet's temperament. Even seek professional help..
  • Reevaluate whether you can keep the pet responsibly.
  • Surrender the pet to a shelter or give it up for adoption to a responsible person who can give it the attention it deserves.

It is inhumane and against the law to abandon them to their fate on the streets.
